Ask the school to connect each identified barrier with a specific response, responsible person and review date. If support is described as access to a team, ask what that team will contribute and what staff will do between contacts.

For health referrals, note the receiving service, date and expected next contact. If appointments take place elsewhere in Ayrshire, consider the journey, time out of school and recovery afterwards. Ask who will make sure that useful health advice becomes part of the everyday education plan.
