Practical next steps

Ask the school what it understands the barrier to be, what support it will try and when everyone will review the result. If the council Inclusion Service is involved, clarify the question, the expected contribution and how advice will be implemented by staff.

For an IDP, look closely at the additional learning provision rather than only the document heading. For NHS involvement, note the team and referral date. Ask who will share relevant recommendations and make sure that each organisation's next action has a named owner.
